For applicants who already hold a bachelor’s degree in any field but would like to explore the possibility of becoming a certified classroom teacher, we offer two paths: Graduate Teacher Certification + Master’s and the Graduate Teacher Certification-Only.
Option 1: Master's Program (Certification + Master’s)
Students who complete the Teacher Certification Master's program earn a teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood & Special Education, Middle Grades Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, or Career & Technical Education while also earning a Master’s of Education degree.
Option 2: Certification-Only Program
Applicants are initially admitted to our Graduate Teacher Certification Master's Program. After successfully completing the minimum requirements for Certification, students may choose to leave the program with certification-only or may elect to continue in the program and complete the additional credit hours and requirements to receive certification and a Master's degree. Students who wish to gain only PA Certification in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood & Special Education, Middle Grades Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, or Career & Technical Education without earning a Master's degree will take decreased coursework.
Applicants that do not currently hold a bachelor's degree that wish to obtain an initial teaching certificate should explore our Undergraduate Teacher Certification Programs.
