Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Current Students

Temple’s ESL Certificate Program has a strong commitment to preparing pre-service teachers to effectively work with ESL students. 

Current Undergraduate Students

Eligible students must have candidacy and a 3.25 GPA. 
Either ENES 3338 or ECE 3209 must be completed before students may take the graduate-level ESL Certificate courses. 
 

Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a Temple University College of Education teacher certification degree program are encouraged to contact the Shimada Resource Center at (215) 204-8011 to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor to discuss the ESL Certificate.

Students who earn a bachelor degree before completing the ESL Certificate must apply for admission to enroll in graduate coursework and continue in this certificate program.

Current Graduate Students

Graduate students currently enrolled in a Temple University College of Education teacher certification degree program are encouraged to contact Ms. Whitney Carroll, Graduate Advisor at (215) 204-8011 to schedule an appointment to discuss the ESL Certificate.
