$2 Million Upward Bound Grant Awarded to Temple University's College of Education and Steppingstone Scholars Inc.
For the past 30 years, Temple University has been a grant recipient from the U.S. Department of Education to provide Upward Bound. A new partnership with the College of Education and Steppingstone Scholars Inc. will create a stronger support system for students to transition from high school to postsecondary institutions.
“Upward Bound will take the learning, cultural, social, and college preparatory experiences of its high school participants to new heights. We in the College of Education are prepared, in partnership with Steppingstone, to institute a pipeline for students in North Philadelphia to Temple and other high-quality four-year institutions via Upward Bound,” said Dr. Juliet Curci, Senior Director of School and Community Partnerships for the College of Education at Temple.
The grant will enact throughout the 2017-2022 academic years and will encourage potential first-generation college students to graduate with a higher education degree.
