Temple University students are eligible to apply to participate in the School L.I.F.E. Project. Pre-service teachers can apply to enroll in the Early Childhood Education and English as a Second Language Dual Certification Program.
The School L.I.F.E. Project offers many benefits to Temple University early childhood education (ECE) students.
- Students are eligible for a scholarship to earn the Pennsylvania English as a Second Language (ESL) Program Specialist Certificate. This includes a $10,000 stipend and in-state tuition remission for two ESL certification courses.
- Students are matched with a mentor teacher receiving synchronized and aligned professional development to support high-quality, culturally relevant and sustaining practices for MLEs. Importantly, all placements are at partnership schools with leadership teams dedicated to supporting all teachers of MLEs.
