CREATE’S Early Childhood equity work sits alongside the ECE teacher certification program to offer inclusive, research-based, and community-focused initiatives to support pre-service and in-service early childhood educators. We aim to provide professional development and establish new and alternate pathways into the early childhood education workforce.

Our efforts are focused on these areas:

  • Community Collaboration: Building connections between educators, families, and local communities to foster a strong support network.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encouraging growth and development throughout an educator's career, ensuring they remain adaptable and responsive to children's needs.
  • Belonging and Wellness: Creating an environment where educators can feel supported and valued by being involved in their education process via support groups.
  • Alternative Learning Pathways: Offering diverse learning options that align with educators' unique goals and aspirations including supporting professional development and continuous education credits.
  • Research: Emphasizing evidence-based practices to guide decision-making and teaching strategies.

Furthermore, we support the programming of Jumpstart and the D.E.E.L. Fellowship as important components of Temple’s commitment to early childhood education in Philadelphia.
