Temple Reading Buddies

Temple Reading Buddies is CREATE’s collaboration with FathersRead365, offering an opportunity for Temple undergraduate students to make meaningful impact on early literacy in local classrooms. Through structured placements assigned as part of a service-learning course, Temple student volunteers, also known as Reading Buddies, will be matched with young learners at partner early childhood education centers or Kindergarten classrooms at Duckrey Elementary School. Temple students may enroll in EDUC 2087 for one, two, or three course credits as part of the course and will spend approximately one to three hours per week (note: number of course credits will dictate the number of weekly service hours) providing early literacy support and instruction to young learners.
