The Diversifying Early Education Leadership (DEEL) Fellowship, funded by the William Penn Foundation, aims to enrich the leadership of Philadelphia’s early childhood education community in the following ways: 

  • First, we support DEEL Fellows, who identify as mid-career professionals of color working in early childhood education in Philadelphia with professional and leadership skill development through graduate level coursework, leadership coaching, and project-based learning.  

  • Second, we help DEI Partner Organizations in ECE around Philadelphia to build greater access to and equity in their leadership roles.   

Through this dual approach, DEEL both elevates new leaders and expands the opportunities for them to contribute to the field.
