October 2023

I want to give my thanks to all of you who stopped by the College of Education and Human Development tent at Temple's Homecoming Tailgate. Connection is critically important for our well-being, and I appreciated the opportunity to meet you and hear about your Temple journey.

Connections to people and community are common threads in this month's newsletter. You'll read about Carlton John Steward (EDU '23) who made a career transition after relocating to the Philadelphia area. And Melissa Walter (EDU '11) introduces us to Love City Brewery, where people connect over a love of microbrews. You'll also learn more about the latest research at our Institute on Disabilities, as well as the work we are doing to address teacher diversity. In both instances, the power of collaboration reflects the values we embrace as Temple Owls.

Finally, Educator will be returning in late November! Educator is our CEHD alumni magazine, and it will be available in print and electronic formats. For future submissions about the important connections in your life, please reach out to me at kirsten.halker-kratz@temple.edu so that we can include you.

Warmly,

Kirsten Halker-Kratz
