Students in the Human Development and Community Engagement major build a solid foundation in child development, intercultural communication, organization leadership, research methods and urban education, with an emphasis on service outside the classroom. Students gain hands-on experience through a yearlong internship to understand the cognitive, physical and social development of children, particularly in urban communities.
