The Adult Learning, Training and Organizational Development (ALTOD) program prepares students to design, develop and deliver training and organizational development programs for adult learners within professional and organizational settings, as well as within more traditional institutions of higher education. Graduates of this program are prepared to foster learning, change and development in any professional arena where learning, training and development of adults is a central objective, including:
- Adult learning, training and development of individuals, groups and teams
- Human resource management — employee, team and leadership development
- Organizational development, change and transformation in public and private sector work organizations, nonprofit and community-based organizations
Adult Learning, Training and Organizational Development students learn how to assess learning and training needs, and then design, deliver and evaluate training, intervention and development programs for adults in a range of organizational settings. Students also become competent facilitators of problem solving, conflict management and group decision-making within organizational settings.
