Microsoft Outlook
Temple transitioned from TUGmail to Microsoft Mail (also referred to as Outlook or Exchange) in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Getting Started with Outlook
Users can access TUmail using one of several possible "versions" of Outlook, including:
- Outlook Web Application (OWA): Often the simpliest and quickest way to access your mail, you can use any available modern browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge, or Safari) to access your mail on any internet-enabled device. To get started, open your browser, navigate to tumail.temple.edu and login with your Temple username and password.
- Outlook 365 for Windows or Outlook 365 for MacOS: When you need a more robust email application, the Microsoft 365 suite includes a fuller version of Outlook. Get started by downloading and installing Microsoft 365 on your computer. Then check out the links for tutorials customized for your OS.
- Outlook App for Android or iOS (iPhone/iPad/AppleWatch): Take your Temple email with you on your phone or tablet by installing the Outlook app available in the Google Play Store (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS).

Microsoft OneDrive
OneDrive replaces your "P" (aka "Personal") drive on Temple's network. In 2020-2021, all files stored on the CEHD network "Home" folders and all OwlBox files and folders for current CEHD faculty and staff were copied to our users' OneDrive accounts.
Getting Started with OneDrive
Since OneDrive stores your files "in the cloud," you can access your files from any internet-enabled device and web browser. To make it even easier to manage your files, you can enable autosync with one or more computers or devices. Once you have "synced" your OneDrive files to a particular device, you can access files using the Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) or Files (tablet) applications, the same way you would any other files stored locally on your device(s). And your files are continously synced to make sure you always have the latest version available online as well as on your device.
- OneDrive on the web can easily be accessed using any internet-enabled device and your preferred web browser. To get started, navigate to portal.office.com, login, and then click on the OneDrive icon.
- OneDriveDrive Mobile app allows you to access your files from your phone or tablet.
- OneDrive for Business App for Windows or Mac allows you to sync your files between your computer and the cloud.

Microsoft Teams
Teams is a collaboration tool that allows you to share files, host virtual meetings, chat with one or more members of your team, and access a variety of productivity tools. Beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year, CEHD-IT will be coordinating with Temple ITS to transfer all data stored and shared on the College "S:" (Shared) drive to a file structure and sharing managed via Teams. Each folder on the CEHD Shared drive will be transitioned into a separate Team or a private channel within a larger Team, depending on a number of factors. Unit heads may be asked to collaborate with CEHD-IT to determine the best strategy for your data and files.
Getting Started with Teams
As with other Microsoft productivity tools, you can easily access Teams by navigating to portal.office.com using your preferred browser. However, unlike with other Microsoft tools, the more robust features and functionality of Teams are only available through the desktop application or mobile device app. If you are unable to do what you want in Teams, be sure to try using the full application compatible with your computer, phone, or tablet.
