In December 2021, Desireé LaMarr-Murphy, EDU '10, was celebrated on Good Morning America for helping residents of West Philadelphia access food, clothing and books during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the help of volunteers, LaMarr-Murphy's backyard turned into a community food pantry called Murphy's Giving Market.
