As the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games have concluded, Temple University is proudly reflecting on the extraordinary accomplishments of alumni who have made their mark on this global stage. Among the standout achievers, two distinguished members of the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) have earned recognition for their exceptional contributions in Olympic history.

Diane Moyer, a 1984 U.S. Women's Field Hockey team member, earned a bronze medal at the Los Angeles Olympics. Moyer, EDU '94, earned her doctoral degree in counseling psychology and is now a psychology professor at Cedar Crest College. She has also made her mark as a coach in field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse at various prestigious institutions, including Yale and Villanova. Her outstanding contributions to sports have earned her a place in the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

In 2008, Sean Casey represented Ireland in the Men's Crew at the Beijing Summer Olympics. Casey, EDU '01, graduated with a bachelor of science in historic education. As a student, he was known for his relentless work ethic and dedication. His former coach, Gavin White, praised him as one of the "most driven and hard-working rowers" he had ever coached. After his Olympic journey, Casey continued contributing to the sport as a coach in Ireland.

Casey and Moyer exemplify what it means to be #TempleMade for greatness. They have brought honor to their alma mater and left a legacy in sports. Their Olympic achievements continue to inspire future generations of Owls to pursue excellence both on and off the field.
