They are among our most esteemed alumni and their accomplishments are extraordinary, truly reflective of what it means to be Temple Made.
Rhonda Lauer, BSEd '69, MEd '73, CEHD 2026 Gallery of Success honoree
The lifelong Philadelphian has served as the president and chief executive officer of Foundations, Inc. since 1997. She has guided Foundations’ rapid growth from a regional program provider to an organization that has earned national recognition for its success in transforming the world of teaching and learning by strengthening the skills of educators. Lauer has worn many hats with the School District of Philadelphia: teacher, principal, administrator, management negotiator and associate superintendent. Additionally, she has served as as superintendent of school in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and currently sits on several boards of directors, including the SELF, Inc. (Strengthening and Empowering Lives and Futures), and Say Yes to Education.

Michelle Ferguson Shore, CPH '19, EDU '20, CEHD 30 Under 30 honoree
The two-time Owl from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania is already making a global impact. As the newcomer program coordinator at Franklin Learning Center with the School District of Philadelphia, Michelle helps newly arrived immigrant students navigate their new surroundings, ensures they have adequate translation tools, prepares them for English language tests and provides professional development to teachers across the district to assist similar students. During her undergraduate years, Michelle spent time teaching English in a Croatian village. While completing her master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), she also enrolled in a summer program at the prestigious University of Science and Technology of China. She spent six years with the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), where her work was featured by Philadelphia media outlets, including the Philadelphia Inquirer.
