Temple's Career & Technical Education program is designed to prepare students who expect to teach career and technical education subjects in grades 7-12. Subject area content (occupational competency assessment credit for industry experience) and professional education content are combined with general education content (university curriculum) in order to provide the student with professional teacher training in their field of specialization. The curriculum integrates state standards, CTE teacher competencies, and industry concepts to provide real-life applications and strategies relevant to today's CTE classroom environment.
This non-degree graduate program meets the requirements for the Pennsylvania Department of Education instructional certificate in Career and Technical Instruction (grades 7 through 12). A master's degree is not awarded upon completion of this non-degree program. You will complete only the coursework and in-service necessary to meet Pennsylvania Department of Education certification requirements for teacher certification. To qualify for graduate non-degree programs, you must currently hold your Bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution in an approved subject area.
