Temple University's College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) will honor the Class of 2025 at its graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 7, at 2:00 p.m. A live stream will be available for remote viewing, ensuring everyone can participate in this joyous milestone.
"This year's graduation ceremony provides all of us with an opportunity to celebrate curiosity, resilience and agency. The graduates of the College of Education and Human Development are equipped to take on some of the most vexing issues facing public education and human and organizational development," said Monika Williams Shealey, dean of the College of Education and Human Development. "We are living out our vision, mission and values through our research, teaching and service to communities who need us the most in Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and around the world."
The ceremony will feature keynote speaker Stacy E. Holland, a distinguished leader in educational equity with nearly 30 years of experience improving outcomes for Philadelphia students. Since 2021, she has served as Executive Director of Elevate 215, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming education across the city. Holland is also the co-founder of the Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) and founder of The Holland Group, a boutique consulting firm. She holds a doctoral degree in learning and development from the University of Pennsylvania, a master's in student personnel administration from Columbia University, and a bachelor's in marketing from The College of New Jersey.
Two student speakers will also take the stage: Lisa Wilson, a staff member and now two-time Temple graduate earning her master of education in higher education, and Aayushi Doshi, a secondary education major who began her journey at Temple Rome and served in multiple leadership roles on campus.
Wilson, a non-traditional student and lifelong Owl, reflected on the power of persistence: "Temple University carries a lifelong legacy, so to now be a part of that legacy two times just makes me feel proud."
Doshi, who will continue her studies in educational policy at George Washington University, credited her global start and hands-on experience at Temple as life changing. "Going to Rome was a big step outside of my comfort zone, but it was one of the best things I have ever done," she said.
As these graduates cross the stage, the CEHD celebrates their commitment to equity, education and impact. Their journey doesn't end here—it continues into classrooms, communities and institutions around the world.
