We're officially six weeks into the fall semester, and students are finding their groove across the university, including here at the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). As the leaves turn orange and red, the weather starts to get cooler, and the routines of school become the norm again, students are looking forward to their futures with excitement and energy.

As an international student and someone who speaks English as a second language, I am interested in developing authentic tests that mirror real-world language use to help evaluate language proficiency better.
A Temple Fav: My favorite spot on campus is the Founder’s garden. It's so beautiful with the trees. I love trees. It is refreshing to see nature.

Points of Pride: Getting to meet my new host classroom and teaching them all about the phases of the moon. I am also proud to be approaching graduation this spring!
Future Outlook: I look forward to student teaching and how my education at Temple will help me teach a new generation of learners. I am excited to start engaging with kids because they're so inspiring.
A Temple Fav: My favorite spot on campus is Maxi’s, but since my family is from New York, nothing can beat New York Pizza. Maxi’s is pretty close though, so I'll give them some credit.

Name: Jaylin F.
Year: Second year EdS student
Program: School psychology with a specialty in applied behavior analysis
Hometown: Allentown, PA
Points of Pride: I am most proud of this year being able to see how much I have grown since starting the program, especially as I've gotten more direct opportunities to apply what we're learning through practicum and clinic experiences.
Future Outlook: I am really looking forward to continuing to conduct assessments in our [psychoeducational] clinic. I am fortunate to learn from such knowledgeable professors and supervisors who are so intentional about supporting my growth and helping me become a stronger future school psychologist.
A Temple Fav: Believe it or not, my favorite spot would probably be the second floor of Weiss Hall, where our clinic is located! I feel like I practically live and breathe in the clinic, especially because I also work as one of the clinic operations coordinators. You might think I would be tired of being there with how much time I spend in space, but it is the opposite. I feel empowered whenever I'm there.
