Michelle Benns-Cook

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Michelle Benns-Cook, MEd, a cherished member of the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) family. Michelle's unexpected departure on June 10, 2024, has left an irreplaceable void in our community.

Michelle's connection to Temple University ran deep; she was a two-time alumna who embodied the spirit of dedication and service. As the college's DEI liaison and adjunct instructor in our AOD program, Michelle exemplified unwavering commitment to our students and colleagues. Her impactful presence was felt during significant moments, such as her role as the graduate student speaker at the college's 2022 graduation ceremony.

Beyond her professional contributions, Michelle's warmth, compassion, and infectious spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her absence leaves an indelible mark on our hearts, and she will be deeply missed by the entire CEHD community.

We extend our deepest condolences to Michelle's husband, children, and loved ones during this difficult time. Our thoughts are also with her sister, Nicole Benns, who serves as an Administrative Assistant in our college, and their family as they navigate this profound loss.

As we come together to mourn Michelle's passing, let us also offer our support to our colleagues who grieve the loss of their friend and colleague. Michelle's memory and legacy will always live on. She'll always be with us. Amid sorrow, let us find solace in the memories we shared with Michelle and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind.
