Since our founding in 1919, the College of Education and Human Development has been a leader in preparing educational professionals who have a transformative effect on the schools or other organizations in which they serve. The research, teaching, and service of our faculty continue the college’s historic commitment to social justice and to improving the life chances of traditionally underserved populations.
Our faculty endeavor to produce theoretically and methodologically sophisticated scholarship that has both immediate and long-term effect and to produce new generations of scholars who will do the same. We aspire to provide rigorous and engaging teaching that prepares our students to be leaders in whatever context they work. We seek to serve the University, our neighborhood and city, the nation, and the world by sharing what we have learned.
