Our faculty prepare advanced students to become instructional leaders in schools and school districts and to contribute to the research that informs and strengthens educational practice with a focus on urban and regional school settings. They prepare doctoral students to conduct research that has the potential to improve learning and teaching, especially from historically underserved populations.

Our faculty conduct research on current, historical, and emerging teaching practices in pre-K through adult learning settings with the goal of improving professional practice and helping all students to learn. They implement and assess programs and strategies for teaching and learning and help influence determinations of best practices for their students and professionals in the field.
