Traditions play an important part in academia. From Convocation to Homecoming to Commencement, these ceremonies and events provide an opportunity to engage and reflect upon where we have been, where we are and where we want to go in life. While we continue to enjoy summer, planning is underway to welcome Temple’s most diverse freshman class to campus and share the traditions of Convocation and Homecoming with them. And, this year, we welcome you to come home to Temple to relive memories, re-engage with friends, and see for yourself how the campus has changed and learn about our plans for the future of education and work.
So, whether you believe Mizzou, Illinois or Baylor had the first Homecoming, inviting alumni to come back home to their college campus, this tradition has been around for most colleges for over 100 years and remains a fun opportunity to reflect, learn, and dream. We invite you to come home to Temple for Homecoming and Family Weekend, September 12-17, which is earlier than usual this year to coincide with President Wingard’s inauguration at Temple’s 12th President.
