Meet Sydnora B. Simon, the Interim Manager of Facilities Operations for the College of Education and Human Development at Temple University. With over 32 years at Temple, including a decade in CEHD, Simon plays a pivotal role in enhancing the campus environment and fostering a supportive community for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Simon is passionate about collaboration and is actively involved in various initiatives to enrich the college's atmosphere. Her responsibilities include assigning office spaces, coordinating moves, managing payroll, and overseeing special projects, all while ensuring that the college remains a functional and welcoming space. Though her days are busy, Simon embraces each project with a smile.

"It's a good busy because I enjoy what I'm doing. I love interacting with the Temple community," she shares. Simon feels a deep connection to Temple, describing it as a family away from home—especially with her daughter, a criminal justice graduate, and her son-in-law, a proud CEHD alum. Her grandson is also pursuing a degree in education at a local university.

Having worked in three different colleges at Temple, Simon believes CEHD is the best! Her extensive experience in various roles—ranging from psychological studies in education to administration and facilities coordination—has equipped her with a unique skill set. Known for her attention to detail and planning, she enjoys informing and collaborating with others.

Simon is also dedicated to her own education, currently finishing her Communications and Social Influence degree at Temple, with just three classes remaining. "I love learning new things. I enjoy studying and being a student," she says, emphasizing her commitment to personal growth.

Outside of work, Simon is very active in her church, teaching in the children's ministry and taking on several ministry roles. She is known for her humble nature and cheerful demeanor. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes, having compiled binders filled with everything from soups to salads.
