Linda Grobman, associate professor of practice in policy, organizational and leadership studies, took part in the "Superintendents' Fireside Chat" at the inaugural CASA ONE Education Conference. Held in late March, the three-day event brought together more than 700 attendees from the School District of Philadelphia for a robust professional development and networking experience.
Hosted by the Commonwealth Association of School Administrators (CASA), the conference focused on addressing critical challenges, highlighting innovative leadership practices and exploring strategies for leading in today's educational landscape. Temple University's College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) was proud to serve as a participating sponsor of this event.
During the Fireside Chat, moderated by Shawn Joseph of Howard University, Grobman shared powerful insights on resilience and collaboration in education, drawing from her extensive experience in the field.
"Despite the chaos, we must as educators fight to provide students with the best education possible," she said. "In doing so, we must collaborate, share best practices and continue to focus on the success of all students."
Strengthening student success and encouraging students to believe in themselves and their abilities are important values for Grobman. "I am optimistic that despite current challenges, educators today continue to abide by the moral imperative to do what's best for children," she shared. "The students in the School District of Philadelphia, in fact in all schools, deserve the most robust, rigorous and future focused education possible. They deserve schools that affirm their brilliance with teachers and school leaders who are steadfast in creating conditions for excellence."
