Doug Lombardi, assistant professor of science education in the Department of Teaching and Learning, was recently awarded the 2018 Outstanding Early Career Scholar Award from the American Educational Research Association, Division C: Learning & Instruction. The American Educational Research Association emphasizes the use of research to advance teaching and learning. The Outstanding Early Career Scholar Award recognizes those in the first ten years of receiving their doctorate degree who have demonstrated excellence in educational inquiry. This is the second year in a row that a College of Education and Human Development faculty member has received this award for Division C. Last year, Sabina Rak Neugebauer, assistant professor of early childhood education was honored for her innovation research she presented on at the recent AERA conference in New York City. Lombardi will be presenting on the research that has earned him this award at the 2019 AERA conference in Toronto.
