The CEHD Graduation Ceremony (May 9) is where your name is read aloud, and you walk across the stage. The University Commencement (May 8) is where your degree is officially conferred; individual names are not read aloud.

Yes! If you plan to attend the CEHD Graduation Ceremony and/or the University Commencement, you will need to register in advance. This helps us adequately prepare for the ceremony. Graduates will register for both ceremonies via the University Commencement Ticket website. More information about this process will be sent via email. Yes! You will need to request tickets in advance for the University Commencement. Each graduate can request up to four tickets for this ceremony. You will indicate the number of tickets you would like to request when you register for the ceremony via the University Commencement Ticket website.

Guests do not need tickets to attend the CEHD Graduation Ceremony but you will need to indicate how many guests you expect in attendance. You will indicate the number of guests you expect to attend the CEHD Graduation Ceremony when you register via the University Commencement Ticket website.

Yes, parking is available for both ceremonies. There is a lot of traffic congestion and parking volume. Please carpool if possible and arrive early. Parking Services has designated assigned parking areas for each school and college. Each graduate will receive a complimentary parking pass with their graduation tickets. Passes will be collected upon entry. You will not be able to reuse the parking pass for the second day of ceremonies.

Only guests with parking passes will be able to enter the 15th Street Lot and The Liacouras Garage. Guests who do not have a parking pass for 15th Street Lot and The Liacouras Garage will be directed to the Norris Street Lot and the Montgomery Garage. Parking will be available on a first come, first-serve basis. If your assigned parking area is full upon arrival, you will be directed to an overflow area, if spaces are available.

If you requested tickets for the University Commencement ceremony, you must pick up your tickets in-person during ticket pick-up week in April. You will also receive your complimentary parking pass at this time.

If you registered for the CEHD Graduation Ceremony, you must pick up your complimentary parking pass in-person during ticket pick-up week in April. Your guests do not need tickets to enter the Liacouras Center for the CEHD ceremony but they will not be permitted to park in the designated parking lots without a parking pass.

Graduate check-in for the CEHD Graduation Ceremony opens at 4:00 p.m. Please arrive at the Liacouras Center loading entrance for check-in and line-up for procession into the arena. The Liacouras Center loading entrance is located on Broad Street, next to the Wendy's.

All graduates must be checked-in before the start of the ceremony. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated.

The Liacouras Center doors will open at  4:30 p.m. for guests attending the CEHD Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. Seating is first come, first-serve. Accessible seating is available (an usher will assist onsite).

Yes, graduates can reserve accessible seating and parking for themselves and their guests when registering for and requesting tickets to the University Commencement ceremony and CEHD Graduation Ceremony. We encourage graduates and their guests to make appropriate plans prior to arriving on campus.

The Liacouras Center has access ramps at all entrances. Accessible parking is available in The Liacouras Center Parking Garage and all Temple Parking Lots. The Liacouras Center Parking Garage is attached to the venue and can be entered from North 15th Street. There are designated parking spaces on the 1st and 3rd floor with a pedestrian walkway on the 3rd floor into the Liacouras Center.

For our deaf and hard of hearing guests there will be American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and captioning during the University Commencement ceremony Wednesday morning. ASL interpreters will be present on stage. Seating will be reserved in the lower rows of section 114 for individuals using the interpreters. The event will also be captioned via web streaming and on the main screens in the Liacouras Center.

If you or your guests need an ASL interpreter for the CEHD Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, please contact commencement.education@temple.edu so we can coordinate seating.

The CEHD ceremony typically lasts 90 minutes. It runs no longer than 120 minutes.

Professional photographers from Legacy Photographic will be taking pictures of each graduate during the CEHD Graduation ceremony. Photos can be viewed and purchased from their website. A representative from Legacy Photographic will also email you about purchasing photographs after the ceremony.
