September 2023

Homecoming will always hold a special place in my heart. Admittedly, I haven't been to my school events in quite some time, but I enjoy the camaraderie and joy of coming together to a place that holds such meaning in our lives. In high school, it meant marching band shows and getting ready for an all-school dance. In college, I sang in an alumni choir and helped display auction items for a fundraiser. My favorite experience happened during my junior year of college, when I proudly served as the attendant for my class, along with one of my dearest friends.

Homecoming, and the events we traditionally recognize as Homecoming events, began in the late 19th century at the collegiate level. The events mostly remain unchanged, as do the great feelings and memories we hold when we attend. Will we see you at Homecoming this year?

Go Owls!
