Students completing the ILT Certificate program must request a program review from the Program Coordinator to receive approval for the certificate to be issued and/or to be approved to register for Ed Psych 9287: ILT: Practicum in Instructional Technology

Step 1: Request a Program Completion Review

You should Request a Program Completion Review [online] no later than the 4th week of your last semester of coursework (e.g. end of September for Fall semester, end of February for Spring semester, end of June for Summer I and end of July for Summer II) and before you register for Ed Psych 9287.

Upon receiving your request, the ILT Program Coordinator will review your academic record and confirm that all required courses have been completed (or are in progress) and will forward his/her approval for the certificate to be issued to the Graduate Programs Office.

Step 2: Request Your Certificate

In addition to a review by the Program Coordinator, you must also submit an Application for a Diploma form through the Registrar's Office.  This application should be submitted at the same time/in the same semester as the Program Completion Review (that is: in the semester in which you will have completed required coursework).

In order to request your certificate from Temple University, you must:

  1. Confirm that you are correctly coded in Banner as an ILT Certificate Student*.  Check your Banner record in SSB on TUPortal and confirm your program is listed as ILT.  If you are incorrectly coded, please contact the Graduate Programs Office at gradprograms@temple.edu for assistance.

  2. Request a paper application for the certificate.  This application may be obtained from the following e-mail address: diploma@temple.edu  Be sure to indicate in your email request that you wish to apply for the ILT Temple Certificate from the College of Education and Human Development, so they can provide you with the correct form.

  3. Complete and submit the paper application for the certificate.  Submit your completed paper application to the Office of the University Registrar, 200 Conwell Hall, 1801 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122.

*Important Note: If you are completing the ILT Certificate Program at the same time or as part of another degree program at Temple: you should apply for your certificate in the same semester that you apply to graduate from your degree program.  Your certificate will not be awarded until all your degree requirements have been met.

What Happens Next?

Once the Registrar processes your completed paper application, the Graduate Programs Office in the College of Education and Human Development will be notified.  The Graduate Programs Office will confirm that your request for Program Completion Review was received and approved by the ILT Program Coordinator.  You will be notified if there are any questions or concerns.  Otherwise, the Graduate Programs Office will notify the Office of the Registrar that your certificate should be issued.

You should not anticipate receiving your certificate until all courses are completed successfully; typically 7-14 business days after grades are posted for the semester in which you take your last course.

If you have any questions about the status of your request for program completion review or the Application for Diploma, please contact the Graduate Programs Office at gradprograms@temple.edu.
